Abortionopoly

Translation

In “Crisis Pregnancy Centers: Impeding the Right to Informed Decision Making,” Alice Chen argues that states should be responsible for regulating crisis pregnancy centers. CPCs use deceptive and coercive practices--including providing false medical information--in their attempts to sway women from obtaining abortions. See more downloadable materials here.

Gameplay

In Abortionopoly, a play on the classic Monopoly, there are two teams: Abortion Clinics and Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs). In the first phase of the game, both teams attempt to configure the game board to represent the interests of their group. Abortion Clinics seek to provide abortions, while CPCs try to limit them. In the second phase of the game, a person seeking an abortion travels around the board and is impacted by the reproductive landscape that the teams have created.
